As "OhNoitsKT" said, it's actually very natural for the Arabian horse to lift it's head in such a manner. . .now, if you had a Quarter Horse or "stock-type" breed doing this, then it would be a little worrisome, but no one is forcing these horses to do anything but be themselves, high-strung and beautiful. You might want to do a little more research into breed-types before making assumptions and yelling "abuse." :)

Also, the handlers aren't forcing the horses to raise their heads. It is an Arabian's natural tendency to raise their heads and hold their necks like that. Arabians are known for being a very alert and feisty breed, and on top of that, these guys are very young so their alertness and curiosity is like doubled. That's why the Arabian is such a beautiful and loved breed - everything about them is natural beauty (minus the greasy makeup on their eyes and muzzle, of course)

@FrkVims, the USDA has set very strict show guidelines. It is illegal for the handlers to use certain types of chains and they have been tested to ensure the horse is not hurt. Chains are used for both the horse's and the handler's safety. If it was abusive, it wouldn't be happening. And @Murat19700417, they whoop and whistle to get the horse's attention and get them excited. It's annoying, but it helps. Anyway.. even though I don't like halter, these foals are beautiful! Arabians are amazing :)

I am just DISGUSTET to see how they make the horses lift up theire heads... :-( It is terrible, and pure simple ABUSE.... Hope somebody puts a chain around the handlers noses and give it a good couple of yanks!!
