Bangles - Getting Out Of Hand (with Michael Quercio) (live @ Cathay De Grande, Hollywood CA 7/31/83)
One gets the feeling that the band was trying to put a cap on the fame that their first single "Getting Out of Hand" brought them as they perform that song and the flipside "Call On Me" both with special guest vocalists. Here, The Salvation Army/The Three O'Clock's Michael Quercio does an admirable job on "Getting Out Of Hand".
Recorded live at the Cathay De Grande in Hollywood CA on July 31, 1983. Sharing a bill with Black Flag (!) and Redd Kross (whose singer Jeffrey McDonald was dating Bangles guitarist Vicki Peterson at the time) the show does a great job of representing the band in all their sloppy garage band glory at the height of their paisley underground notoriety in L.A.. Also notable about this show is that it is one of the first performances with Michael Steele, who had just replaced Annette Zilinskas on bass.
