The amount of waste produced by the area's households in 2008/09 was 80,000 tonnes - equivalent to 11,429 double decker buses. Bath & North East Somerset Council helps residents recycle over 40% of this waste - or 34,000 tonnes.
The Council wants to recycle as much as possible and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. This will help meet one of our eight key priorities - tackling the causes and effects of climate change. In this video, the Council's Waste Services team give the top five tips on how to recycle as much as possible and help collections go more smoothly.
