@akeffo Thanks so much for the info. I've seen programs on the travel channel showing Madison and it sure looks beautiful especially in the Springtime. It's also affordable for a disabled vet like me on a limited income. I appreciate your help.
Peace

@prairiepeteohio Is Cincinnati still a great place to live? I had not visited there since 1980 when I was a young Marine and I loved it back then,

Are there big differences between Madison and Milwaukee as far as crime rates,Demographics, public transportation, rent, and things like that? I will be relocating to Wisconsin one day but am stuck between either Madison or Milwaukee or Waukesha. Most of my oild Marine Corps buddies live in WI.

@LosAngeleno1959 Madison has more job opportunities, less crime and is beautiful for a city of its size. Milwaukee has more to do because it is larger. It's good for the Lake, sports teams, museums but has much more crime. Waukesha is just a large suburb of waukee.

I have heard others say that Madison is a wonderful place to live, but it wasn't built for me.

Yes, it is that kind of city. On one hand it is a beautiful city in comparison to most American cities. On the other hand it is filled with a lot of over educated types with an axe to grind. You can be successful, live a half decent life, or you are frustrated by all the bullshit. I will probably live out my life but it hasn't been easy all the time.
