These (Along with Full Sized Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles, and Buicks) Were some of the most die-hard, bulletproof reliable cars ever made.

Yes, so much more "hokey" than today's commercials featuring Toyota Telethons, an animated jackass knocking on your picture tube, sock puppet monkeys and rapping hamsters.

I can't remember the last time I watched a commercial that tried to sell a specific model. All center around "incredible financing deals" while trying to stimulate the dead brain cells of 90s Ritalin junkies.

Do you think we'll ever again see a Chevy commercial comparing the features of a Camaro to a Challenger or Mustang?

true, the mid seventies GM cars were junk, the Vega should or maybe did have a class action lawsuit ... 7's7 were getting it better quality wise but still long way before getting even with the imports now..

Now THAT'S more like it! A simple, straightforward spot withoug all the glitz and gimmicks they have to throw in to get your attention nowadays! (And Jerry Orbach did a great job as Lumiere in "Beauty and the Beast," too!)

GM had to prove that their all-new full sized cars were well built. The 1977 were 1000 lbs less than the giant 1976 full-sized models and the '77 were far better built. Those 1977 cars were very tight and well assembled compared the the goodlooking but poorly-built though reliable 1976 models.

I miss the personality these cars had, and they were sooooooo comfortable to ride in, and a pleasure to drive. Today's cars are so cookie-cutter, eggs on wheels with zero pizazz.
