President Barack Obama has unveiled a series of energy initiatives that closely track the Pickens Plan. Legislation to provide incentives to move the nation's heavy duty and fleet vehicles to natural gas has widespread bipartisan support in Congress, with more than 180 co-sponsors in the U.S. House of Representatives. A similar bill in the Senate also has strong bipartisan support.

I've accomplished my goal of achieving legislation and proposed policies to help solve the OPEC oil crisis. The ball's now in Washington's court. What we need is leadership. Despite the political partisanship that divides Washington, I am hopeful and confident Congress will put America's best energy future first.

It's great to see the President engaging in important and meaningful dialogue on this subject. But proposals are not enacted policies. The pressure needs to remain on. I will continue to be outspoken on this subject, and continue to call out the special interests that are working to undermine this bold and important agenda.

  • Thank you for the uploads! I will definitely be keeping up with this movement- I always searched for a place where I can keep informed from credible sources, but wondered sometimes if it even existed. Glad to know it is and is gaining traction.

  • "Natural Gas will be the cheapest, cleanest source of energy to bridge the gap between the oil-dependent civilization we live in now and the renewable energy resources we must transition to (will still take decades at best) in the future. Meanwhile, there needs to be stricter environmental codes and stronger enforcement of these codes. Done right, fraking can be quite environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, it only takes a few irresponsible companies to do serious environmental damage"

  • "We are there?" We are nowhere!!!! The fracking issue will take a minimum of ten years to sort out. Politics and Influence will lead to consensus-seeking and consequently to inaction resulting in more friction and heat.

  • He has known of this since before taking office and gone out of his way to ignore it, beholden to his environmental base who still oppose natural gas, so I will believe it when I see it.

  • Now, we need to make sure Obama puts the money where his mouth is.

  • Thanks Boone you are the best !! Also whats so hard about refueling put a few tankers of CNG in the truck stops and gas stations ?

  • I am glad to hear that. You have done a great job!
