Just in time for this weekend's remastered "The Tholian Web", Spockboy and I created a mashup. For some reason the way the fuse burns on Mission Impossible always seemed to look like the Tholian web from Star Trek, and here's what happens when the two meet. Spockboy did some AMAZING editing on this and created the Thoilan web effect!

  • Fantastic work. My kids and I want to try to make our own Mashup. Could you share with us what software and/or techniques you used? Any help would be great.

  • @lewistwins Thanks for the kind words, this was one of our very first, and the programs I most often use are Sony Vegas, and Photoshop. Paul created the Tholian ship and the web in Sony Vegas and After Effects. As for techniques, start with an outline or story and just start cutting!

  • The Channel 37 team loves your mashup! We thought you'd like to know that we featured it in a post yesterday. Keep up the great work!

  • @Channel37Net Thanks so much! Shoot me a link I would love to see it! Thanks again!

  • this is so brilliant!! Great job :D

But how did you get the rocket in it? Is there a programm in the movie maker?

    It looks awesome!! :D

  • @Deep1Purple2 Paul Sibbald did the overlay of the Tholian ship with Sony Vegas.

  • Particularly appropriate since Leonard Nimoy became a regular in MI after ST ended.

  • Wow, I have no life because I noticed this, but you spelled Kelley as Kelly in Deforest Kelley.

  • @Kelvington will do, link is on its way via e-mail (YouTube doesn't seem to allow links in comments) ...

  • LOL, Nichelle in Mirror Uhura costume. ;)

  • This is GREAT!

  • The funny thing is that as a little kid, I thought TOS and M:I were the same show. They aired back to back, Nimoy was on both shows, in the 20th century ep they occasionally used the same backlot sets, the same studio orchestra, a lot of the same guest stars...
