I'm nothing but a pawn in a big game,
With the ability to smile and to feel pain,
And whenever I try to get philosophical about the big questions of life- well I just feel strange.
No use in the things that I don't know,
No sighing over places that I can't go,
So I live life dealing in matters that I can fully understand, cause of that I rarely live low.
Simplicity -- children playing before the world gets tall and their hearts start swaying,
A brief smile between a mother and child before the first day of school
That's the life that's close to me.
I take pride in the birds that soar through the sky, above society's lies, and past wandering eyes,
No trouble in a sky so high, where the world stands still and the wind blows gently.
These days everybody wants to run round, swarming the towns and laying waste to the playgrounds,
One day you'll see a beautiful lake, you'll turn away, turn back and find you're looking at a dirt mound.
I'll wonder if there's ever time -- if there's ever time for the world to sit down and watch the birds fly,
Then I'll remember that the world looks down -- and be sad, but be happy cause at least then I can say I tried.
And besides, once your blindsided by a red sun setting on a Tuesday night,
You come to realize that the life you lead is one of passing insignificance -- hear that but don't cry.
For there are joys for the gloomiest of our kind,
And there are words yet to be heard within our minds,
And we can endure, as long as we believe in the power of the world when all of our dreams are aligned.
I don't know - keep an eye out for the signs,
Who knows what you might find...
I liked it.

Bravo man. Bravo. This is EXCELLENT. Dark, deep. Reminds me of the Kansas song Dust in the Wind. Same theme.
