@Hanglands ha ha fair point,
The 109 was a still a better aircraft in 1940 though.

@jagdflieger100 .303s were on the winning side, draw your own conclusions from that ;)

@Hanglands Eat my Mg 17 55 second round firing machine gun against your 13 second .303 Browning machine gun with bullets half the size of mine!

Yeah 'nick21sammy' is right. the engine cowling at the top of the engine means its a Rolls Royce Melin powering the aircraft. So that means it's a Spanish Hispano HA 1112 (real 109s were powered by an inverted Daimler-Benz engine - hense why the cowling is at the bottom of real 109s. Hispano 1112s were never used by the Germans. So this must be some unused footage from the Battle of Britain film in 1969. But its damn realistic though!

too bad its not real footage, its a Spanish Buchon Me-109 (an Me-109 with an oversized cowling) they were used for the 60's movie "Battle of britain" it could be this was filmed during one of their practice flights, to practice the dogfight routine and an Me-109 had a camera put into its gun port to film it

Even at the low rez I'm nearly positive that these are real planes. If it's fake it's lifted from a film that used state of the art high budget effects. ILM et al could pull this off... but... as a WWII piston engined air-war nerd, and film nerd in general I figure I would have seen this scene.
Eat my .303 you Hun!!!!!!!!!!!!
