http://goo.gl/firy - Makarova and Kivitt perform the Black Swan pas de deux from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake on The Ed Sullivan Show on November 15, 1970. Available on the DVD "Ed Sullivan Presents Ballet Legends" at EdSullivan.com
I have never followed ballet, so I am not sure why I decided to watch this clip, but it was a revelation. What I see here is a wonderful combination of beauty, grace, athleticism, and brilliance. I am impressed, and I want more.
Of course that is Makarova - this is just a few months after she defected and that is what she looked like then. I remember seeing this on TV and then seeing her live for the first time a few weeks later at ABT with Erik Bruhn.
Maravillosos, siempre es hermoso ver danza clásica, a este nivel, que requiere mucho esfuerso, y dedicación....y sobre todo tener facultades para demostarlo.....

Are you blind? Of course it's Makarova! Even if you can't see her face you can see her dance.
