With TAS they could draw any planet, species, ship, etc... And not worry about budget when it came to building the set. Mote aliens are in the ship. Couldn't do that on TOS; budget restraint!

Unless you're a librarian in the library where the books send you back in time like in that episode of the original series. Then it would be a whole lot more dangerous.
