Dark Souls (Beginner's Guide) Weapon - Uchigatana

This is the earliest possible method of obtaining the Uchigatana in Dark Souls, be warned that after you kill this vendor you won't be able to purchase the things he has for sale anymore. The only important items he has are arrows and Lloyd's Talisman(s). Better arrow vendors are found throughout the game, and the Talismans are used mainly for PvP encounters (but are not necessary)

If you're having trouble with the Undead Burge and the bosses within I suggest picking up the Uchigatana. Requirements of 14 strength and 14 dexterity are quite low, making it the perfect starter weapon. With upgrades the Uchigatana will last you throughout the entire game.

Note that you may also purchase an Uchigatana from Shiva of the East (only in Blighttown) after joining the Forest Covenant.

@ConsoleCleric Priscilla's dagger +5 has a rating of S. I say just go +10 Uchigatana and then go +5 Lightning.

do the uchigatana do more dmg when you ser more dex?

If you reinforce that Uchigatana to a +15 weapon, the DEX parameter bonus will increase from B to A.

If you are a DEX character (50-70 range), your +15 Uchigatana would deal tremendous damage. Excellent sword.
