Home made airbrush compressor

Perfect compressor for home use, it is loud as your (fully functional) refrigerator!!!
It cost a lot lees then other airbrush compressor, that you can by out there. It will cost you around 100euros to make it (whit new refrigerator engine/compressor) or less if you already have some parts ;)
It also performs much better then other AB compressors.

  • My question is the compressor has 3 copper tubes in front then 1 in the back by where the start relay box is which of those tubes is for air out put and which is for air input?

  • @K1KO247

Put your finger over it and see for your self, one is for air output, two are for air input ;)

  • Did you make a release valve for the moisture that will acquire in the bottom of the tank?

Where did you get the fridge compressor? I'd imagine it's oil-less, too.

I've wanted to make one for a long time. You should put some paintings up.

I think I'll get around to making one soon. I just need to find where Ican get a oil-less fridge compressor. Can't be too hard to make.

  • @fabfauna

Yes, I did make a release valve on bottom of the tank. There is no problem whit oil, as long as you don't move that engine around (you do loos a very little, little, little oil when its working, nothing dramatic).

  • Will this thing turn itself on and off when the pressure gets too low? Is that why it stopped at 4 bar?

  • @oaney yes.
