the birth of Horus by a virgin mother is a popular misconception. his birth was 'miraculous' because his father, Osiris had died before Horus was conceived. Isis then found Osiris' remains, put them together and had sex with him. I think when people hear "miracle birth" they immediately think "virgin birth."

I think the only miracle in that story is: How the hell did Osiris get it up?!

As cool as this is, unfortunately not all this information is actually correct... it's upsetting, if only because if someone is trying to make a point, then he shouldn't lie even once, or he loses all credibility. The story of Horus, for example, is not like that of Jesus. He was not betrayed by an apostle/ follower, but he was murdered by his brother, who then scattered Horus' body across the earth. Horus was also not resurrected, but brought back to life by his wife.
