"Every religion emphasizes human improvement, love, respect for others, sharing other people's suffering. On these lines every religion had more or less the same viewpoint and the same goal."
~ His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Religious groups, as well as non-theistic ethical systems, differ greatly in their beliefs and practices. There is, however, a common thread that runs through them all. Each of these systems of belief has some example of the Ethic of Reciprocity in their teachings. The most common version of this is known as:

The Golden Rule
"Do onto others as you would have them do onto you."

  • A very powerful message! Organized religions are very successful in promoting the Golden Rule to govern their members' behavior towards other members. But most have almost totally failed at teaching the universality of the Golden Rule: that it should extend beyond one's fellow believers to the entire human race.

  • «Να μην κάνεις στους άλλους αυτό που δεν θες να σου κάνουν» (Θαλής ο Μιλήσιος) (εξακόσια χρόνια πριν το πει ο Χριστός). YOU CAN SEARCH THE TRANSLATION IN GOOGLE. From Greek to English. In such a beautiful video I wonder how can be loudly absentee the Greek spirit... The spirit that marked the today civilised world. I just wonder... From Egypt to Rome... and Greece an unknown civilisation?

  • Thankyou, food for the heart and soul. Love and Blessings

  • The beauty of universal truth...

If only this one truth was understood and followed by mankind eden would be ours...

    Kia kaha........Aroha...

  • @ExtremeBogom maybe you didnt understand the video.......

  • I practice the golden rule. That's why I'm a vegan. I wouldn't want someone to kill and eat me, and so I don't kill and eat others. Please include all animals in your circle of compassion. Go vegan.

  • That was beautiful, thank you.

  • 'Every religion emphasizes human improvement, love, respect for others, sharing other people's suffering.' and then however ignores its own advocation through the authorisation and condoning of the suppression, abuse and even murder of gay people around the world. Its a nice thought but until religions actually practice what they preach they will merely be hypocrites.

  • The middle picture: Had to be Islam didn't it?..

  • All of the videos are beautiful and touching. God bless whoever made them, and everyone else.
