Brego-Ons verhaal in beelden

Vriendschap tussen mens en dier is iets speciaal en om te koesteren. Het heeft echter ook tijd nodig om te groeien,..maar het eindresultaat is eens zo mooi! Hier zien jullie de band die ik samen met mijn kerkuil Brego heb, in beelden. Ook hier wil ik laten zien dat onze band steeds sterker en sterker geworden is. Samen hebben we heel wat doorgemaakt en dat maakt ons nog onafscheidelijker.(song : Wind Beneath my wings - Bette Midler)

Hello Laroena

I must say that you have a very beautiful friendship with your Owl and I am very happy for you. Owls are the most beautiful of all raptors especially the Barn Owl. They have the most expressive eyes and characteristics of all Owls. I wish to get one myself but it is not allowed ion the US unless you have proper licensing or educational prospects. You are blessed with a wonderful relationship. God bless you an Brego. One question though? Is his wing OK. I saw that it was bandaged?

Hi, it are indeed beautifull creatures. I have him for seven years now. His wing is okay now, he had an accidant with it, but it is already healed, thanks to good care and a little bit of love.

Still no girlfriend...still waiting on the building for a new aviary, what's very irritating because normally he already had a partner.

Yeah, one of the problems is that he's inprented on me, why he's looking at me as his partner. It was a faulth from my side to raise him without keeping distance. I've just raised him in my room for 3 years where he could fly free and sleep with me. Now after 4 years he's living in an aviary, but I don't find it big enough for two. Still have planning for a big flying ren when I move to a bigger house and garden. I take him out every day for flying in the garden.

you have already a wonderful relation ship with him - if he gets another

close friend in the form of an owl, you will lose a lot of your closeness with him -

@Laroena I have been trying to get information on them but it is a very hard subject for most here for like I said it is not allowed to have one without licenses from Government. Some are knowledgeable but not willing to discuss for that reason alone. Very disappointing to say the least. I have heard that they can be very clean where they live but are they that way in the house? Can they be messy? I have had many birds before ( Macaws and Cockatoo's) and am not adverse to the mess LOL

@Laroena Well I hope that all goes well with the new one when she comes. The other partner you speak of is you of course right? LOL How big is the new aviary going to be? Does he stay in your home most of the time or is he housed outside? I am sure you ensure to keep him happy. Can I give you Email so we can talk further?? I have many questions and wish to talk to someone who has a lot of experience with them. My friend is mostly hawks an falcons but not owls.
