Nothing wrong with a little socialism. Most of the European countries are a hybrid of Democracy AND socialism.
The Police, Fire Departments, Highways and Roads, Schools... all "socialist." It is an excellent and EFFICIENT business model to take the most basic of societies infrastructure and run it by the government to take the profit out of it and make every dollar count.
Does government always do a perfect job? No. But if schools were not public most kids would never get an education
