I didn't like the factory pipes but didn't want to go too loud. I happen to have a set of factory pipes from a 2006 VTX1300C but they don't just bold on. I had to cut back the exhaust pipes and the chrome heat shields. I also had to fabricate a mounting bracket to support the pipes because the bolds don't even come close to lining up. I really like the larger pipes on the bike and the sound is greatly improved. I only wish it was easier to record the sound. The video doesn't do justice to the true sound. After bobbing the rear fender all the way down, the VTX pipes were WAY TOO BIG so I went looking for smaller pipes and Hard-Krome offered the shortest pipes I could find without going fully custom. They sound NICE! They are the American Classic Stripper pipes and they are wonderful!
