Realms of Arkania - Shadows over Riva - Gameplay Part 3

The Dark Eye - Shadows over Riva (Das Schwarze Auge - Schatten über Riva, 1996) is the last part of a classic game trilogy.

Realms of Arkania is a german game trilogy, called "the northland trilogy". The games are set in the "Dark Eye" universe. "The Dark Eye" is the german counterpart to the popular "Dungeons & Dragons".

This game is text heavy, however it's storytelling is just awesome. It has a very strong atmosphere, a deep plot and a good amount of fighting. However, the combat controls and graphics were pretty much outdated for 1996. I don't mind that though, this game is a lot of fun. I played it when i was about twelve years old. I don't have any english version of it. I'm pretty sure that there are english versions around.

I had to do a lot of audio editing, so that music and sound effects stay synced. That's why i didn't make this video for a long time.

I'm playing on DosBox. This video is split up into 5 parts. I however want to say, that i didn't finish the Necromancer quest at the end. I will do this in the next video.

The problem is, that playing the Dark Eye takes a lot, A LOT, of time. You cannot just go into a dungeon and kill monsters and come out unharmed. The heroes can get a lot of sicknesses, also i can easily run out of healing potions, "astral energy" (mana) & god knows what. These first 5 parts consist mostly out of dialogue.

(... and by the way, yes, i bought Drakensang, and i could easily make videos of it ... however, i didn't play it much myself yet. It's also a lot different from what you see here)

Fulmen und ignin sidn ASP vergeudung höchstenm grades, die nutzen nur in kämpfen gegen bossgegner. Nutze besser Zauber die deine Leute unterstützen, der beste sit Axxeleratus da hast du 2 Attaken pro Kampf oder gegen Feinde: Große Gier, Böser Blick, Paralü oder Horriphobos. Und lass den Magier mal Stabzauber machen, das Spart pro zauber 2Punkte Energie und der Stab gilt als Fackel und Seil.

SÜI ist echt cool, obwohl DSA-Unkundige bei der Charaktergenerierung erst mal in die Röhre schauen.
