The first thing you notice about Bob's Big Boy is the 70 foot tall sign that at night lights up with pink and white neon letters that beckon drivers to come in and have a bite to eat. In 1996 the LA Conservancy got the Burbank location declared a "California State Point of Historical Interest." This is the oldest remaining Big Boy in America, built in 1949, a magnificent example of the emerging California coffee shop style that exploded in Los Angeles in the 1950's. The food is burgers, fries and breakfast any time, but the main attraction is the '50s-style car hop service and hosting the weekly "Classic Car Night."
