I liked this clip of an animated Dancing Family from a 1950's commercial. I wanted to loop the dance cycle and then make the quality more pristine, so I rotoscoped the frames in Photoshop, then at the behest of a friend, I colorized it using a color scheme my friend selected.

Now before any of you start carping about how I could have done this with Flash, well, yes, I already know that. But doing it by hand in Photoshop preserves the hand-drawn animated "film" look of old-school animation, whereas Flash tends to look a little TOO slick. As much as I need to sit down and really do a project with Flash, Photoshop is still in my comfort zone.

  • Good job Baron! Very crisp -- they pop right off the page! Neat idea too. I just got a new scanner and am going through a bunch of family photos and retouching, so I know how tedious that work can get.

    Nice job!

  • @ColonPal Thanks, Bob! Good t' see ya! Yeah, I know whatcha mean about photo restoration. This was a fun exercise though...especially since it only consists of 12 frames! LOL

  • The MUSIC! Nooooooooo!!!! DX Oh, well. I still like the video. :-)

  • @mindwipeuk Thanks, M8! I've had this video uploaded for a while, with more appropriate period music, but the YT Music Nazis flagged me. You know how it goes.

  • Fantastic work as always.

  • Wow really awesome job!
