  • this is outside the Royal Brighton yacht club in melbourne

etchells handle swell and heavy conditions very well, this was taken on a day where the racing was cancelled because the start boat couldnt hold an anchor, but all the etchells guys out there were ready and happy to race.

of course it all really depends on the guys sailing them as always.

  • @68062 have to agree with @fedfeder, its hard to keep the jib off the water! What i find works best is once the jib is down I take in all the slack on the jib sheets and that keeps it on teh centre of the boat and mostly dry. BUT be careful to let the sheets off before trying to hoist or you'll struggle to get it up!!

  • @68062 Sail Etchells once then you know it is not possible to keep the jib onboard.

  • Why is your genny gone for a swim? I can see that the kite is up but thats no reason to let the foresail dip over the side, thats just bad sailing!

  • I thought u guys were sailing off the Gold Coast, they look similar

  • Where is this? How does an Etchells handle in heavy wind and swell?
