Grammar is important! Capital letters are the difference betwen helping your Uncle Jack off a horse, and helping your uncle jack off a horse.

If you are a Spanish-Speaking Brazilian and you go to an English-Speaking Forum Site, you CAN be blamed if you try asking questions in broken English translated from Google. Believe me, this has happened before. Jesus Christ.

I agree, it's important not just for everyone who is a native speaker of English, but for people who speak English as a second language, it can be difficult for them to understand sentences like (especially important in business):
ur rite, becmoes a problem wen de ppl cant get da msg dat u sayin
-
i can use these PUGS u speak of when i need to

u r rite lol it becmoes a problem wen ppl dnt get wot ur sayin tho
I do not mind misspelled words, but when somebody makes a sentence like, "omg ur a tard lol r u retrded or sumtin," I lose a little hope in humanity.

Please take into account that a large percentage of the online community does not have English as their mother tongue. Therefor these people cannot be blamed for spelling errors. Remember, a lot of people speak english, but few americans/english speak a foreign language.
On the other hand, native speakers should pay attention to spelling and grammar. Poor spellers and writers seldom are taken seriously.
