It took a Monarchy-- the French under Napoleon-- to dissolve the "Serene Republic" in 1797 but the Venetian bankers had begun to move money to more favorable locations, sensing that the power of Venice as a state was nearing its real, if not nominal, end.
The Venetian model is the same kind of governance that rules today. Those of you who resent the power of monarchy are prepared to live under a "Republic" along the lines of the Venetian one in the 18th century, right?

@Moras701 1100 years of what? Monarchy as a government is timeless and ancient. The republic is a more recent and Jewish invention--- probably to make rule by rich oligarchs easier. The rich oligarchs prefer to control the money through 'heavy' or 'black' money--- money that is based on debt.
