Ulli, Lovely: You took my soul with the images and the song, pecially at the ending pics. As you I always love Pernell, a great man, my love.

In 1964 in an interviews with TV guide Pernell Roberts was asked if he could do a one-sentence broadcast to the world, what would be his message? His answer was:
"I would tell all of humanity to stop hating, start loving…. "I would want my message to be beamed mainly to the young people, to make them understand real values. I would love to address student organizations, engage in campus debates, make them see the truth." (Pernell Roberts)

@ jehukjehe - You are not alone. I guess part of our despair is to think that there is just a handfull of people like Pernell Roberts going around and only the lucky ones will have the priviledge to be part of their world. The man had four wives, none of them re-married after their divorces and for the looks of it, they loved him until the end. I guess that says a lot about a man don´t you think so? Pernell Roberts felt the pain of his fellow man and he tried to make a difference big time.

@ jehukjehe - You are not alone. Pernell Roberts represented that perfect gentleman, enigmatic and complex, a smile, a voice and the looks of a Greek god, simple, intellectual, mysterious, extremelly seductive in a very positive way, kind and easy to talk to. Being the southern man he was, he could not be any different. The man had substance, loved the simplicity of life, was a nature lover and I bet you the man was a loner and loved his solitude. Pernell´s music speaks for itself.

@ jehukjehe - You are not alone. I wish I´d never seen him, heard his voice and knew the amazing man he was as a human being. Your words are exactly how I feel too, Amazing how someone I never knew could affect me so. For weeks I remember walking on the streets crying and mourning Pernell as if he was my lover. I literally thought I was losing my mind until a friend helped me make sense of it all. Pernell Roberts belonged to all of us and he was the perfect picture of a real gentleman.

I don't mean to sound so dumb, are you saying they had a girl for a stand in for him, Betty Endicott? Was there anything between him and Faye or was that just from the set? Thanks for all your answers, I appreciate it.

@adamsonegirl Yes he had a female stand in...she left when he left. Have no idea if there was a fling going on between Fay and Pernell...I haven't heard any stories to suggest it but that doesn't mean anything. You are welcome.
