  • Those turlte helmets were not used by the british army until 1944. In WWI they used the brodie.

  • @CairoJCL Sorry to contradict you but the helmets worn are all original first world war British Army issue. They are not copies or fakes and like every detail of the uniforms worn by the re-enactors in the video extremely well researched.

  • Thanks a million for posting this. It is very emotional to watch. I will be showing it to my students as we begin learning about trench warfare.

  • That was nice of you to say so, thank you. It is a subject that can easily be trivialized, we tried to be sensitivein our portrayal. It was shot as a pilot for a broadcast show but was sadly not commissioned.

  • i fucking hate war good vid

  • cheers

  • it's crazy how in world war I they were able to turn the landscape of europe into that hellhole

  • My Great Grandpa got poisoned by mustard gas and died of it many yrs later. when he was at the hospital and they were fixing him up he always said thank you to everything they said. When they were done the nurse came over and said "Thank you just saved your life" :)

  • I would not like to fight in the war, but I would at least like to go through one day in their shoes to see and feel what they felt.

  • Many soldiers

  • Many soldiers died while walking : '(

  • @crazychasinator

My granddad died of shellshock; on his death certificate they wrote 'Epilepsy'. Nice eh? He had never had a 'fit' in his life. He died in a 'sanitorium' after the war. God bless them all.

  • thats a pretty cozy trench wooden sides and everything the soldiers look realy well fed in reality the trenches were more temporary than that they slowly would move closer to the enemy by digging closer trenhes all they realy had was a wooden bridge across the bottom so that they wouldnt get trench foot also rat infested and filled with corpses that the rats would eat but the rats mostly ate the eyes and liver the trench in the vid is like a holiday inn compared to that

  • sorry,what?is this true?very interesting if so.

  • @chisox100 Allies killed 400,000 German civilians by blockading the country. Mass starvation.
