Gateway NV53 Laptop Review

This is a short overview of one of Gateway's newest series of laptops: The NV. To be specific, mine is an NV5388u, but the different models are practically identical (besides the different colors).

How is the camera?

@cheucklate It's actually fairly decent. I've made some pretty sweet pictures with Photoshop using my webcam. But the video quality on it is very disappointing. That's pretty much expected though, from a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

my battery only last about 2:45 min on power, brightness all the way down

on balanced only an hour

is there any other battery out there?

@oshilzl No, unfortunately. They only make 6 cell batteries for Gateway NVs.

ive had this laptop for more than a year and the screen got a glitch. i have to put down pressure with my hand on the top right corner of the screen of the computer every time i use it or else the image burns on the screen :/ its really annoying now... any helpful tips or suggestions?

guys this is kinda urgent, the entire power button fell off my nv53, its been on for a few days on and if it turns out im afraid ill never be able to turn it on again. im really scared, but one question, when the computer is off and you hit the disc eject button, does the computer power up?

Lmfao I'm typing this comment on the NV53, but mine get's really hot after like after an hour of use and it becomes really slow...but I got this back on May 2010

Do NOT get this for gaming. I didnt get it for that purpose at first but if you get it for that reason you will have to play most newer games on the lowest settings and still have to worry about very low fps.

@addisonmoreno Well I have never had that problem. Heres some things:change the graphics card OR repair the screen cause ive never had that happen to me.

hay its a great laptop nv53 for the money and my nv 53 works great

@CraynLite I play WoW on it. It's horrible, trying to get a calculator to play on, it would be better than this. You can run WoW on low settings with about 50 fps, anything higher will make you lag.

How's the gaming on it? Rec. for gaming? Does it run runescape, league of legends, world of warcraft, dragona, dota? Any of those anyone played on it, ifso how well does it run the game.
