Ok, really don't know what to make of this...
I actually rate JT as a bass player. Listen to early Duran. He doesn't just play 'root/fifth'...Save a prayer is a really good melodic bass line (not a million miles away from Zender on on Jamiroquais Too Young To Die) . However, my opinion is that he's the same as Gary Kemp out of Spandau..oddly enough really good players but too caught up in being being successful in being the 'heart-throbes' of the day to allow them to shine as 'players'.
