www.arbutusyarns.com :: Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh playing a solo set from 'The Back Loft' in Dublin's City Centre. Filmed by musician/filmmaker Myles Ó Reilly, June 2009
the kind of Irish fiddling that is (as another post said)so reminds me of the Scandinavian playing. ITs a haunting and austere musical landscape that draws you further and further into its world. Love it and him!

This piece is obviously derived from the Scandinavian fiddle tradition that C O'R is influenced. Though it's modern take on that genre. brilliant.

There are two types of Maestro:
-the sort whose playing intimidates you to the extent that your toe slowly nudges your instrument-case further under the chair, and
- The Better Sort, whose playing encourages and insprires you to give it a try, and continues to insprire you to practice.
This is definitely the latter....is that 'DADE' tuning? I'm going to run off and find my fiddle now.....
