Maestro Kemal Gekić frequently visits Lecce,Italy. This city has a beautiful hall, Teatro Paisiello . This clip is an encore given at the end of a recital in Lecce. He gave 3 pieces for encore and this is the second of the three.
All is not OK with this video. Gekic is sometimes soft and then sometimes loud with the right hand. Uneven in volume is the phrase. At the end, he thunders the last two chordal cadences as though he were playing Rachmaninov's Third. His octaves also leave something to be desired. Listen to Rubinstein and Arrau.
This is so positively beautiful. There can be no better pianist than this man. My absolute favorite pianist in the world. I think there should be a cult dedicated to him. He is pure genius.
I Love how he beautifully keep the melody in the middle arppeggiated section and starts the "doppio movemento" with a pianissimo and gradually increasing the energy towards the end...
The more I listen his performances, the more I admire this pianist.
