I was born in Ecuador and lived there for over 20 years, I live in New York for 18 years as well. Migrant workers coming across the border to work has been a reality and a necessity for many farms, ranches, and businesses in the U.S.

Today, if you go to border states like TX and New Mexico, you will find that Mexican, Central and South American workers do an enormous amount of the grunt work: building houses, paving roads, growing food, cooking, cleaning, gardening, taking care of children, etc. etc. etc. They are some of the hardest working, family-oriented, and nicest people you will ever meet in your life. They should not be demonized, labeled as "criminals," etc. These are decent, hard-working people.

Many leave for the U.S. because there were no jobs, no opportunities, and no hope to provide for their families in their places of origin -- often a result of NAFTA wiping out the many small farms in Mexico. Or, for many, it was simply a good short-term job opportunity in the U.S. Believe it or not, but many do actually want to return home where they can be with their relatives, speak their native language(s) (some speak indigenous languages), and enjoy their own customs/culture. But, with increasing militarization of the border, many realize that now, once they get across, there is no going back.

We need to ask ourselves the following question about NAFTA: Why can U.S. capital and businesses move freely across the border into Mexico, but Mexican labor cannot move freely across the border into the U.S.?

  • Immigrants are not the problem. When you come here illegal is when its an issue. I hate those signs talking 'this is our land' blah blah, because we all know your not coming here for THE LAND you want the welfare, jobs, and safety! If thats not the case then I really do hope we can strip all that away and just leave you with the bare land. Then what? you'd be jumpin another boarder. Lets keep it real, dont try to justify it.

  • Don't you love it when the Head of Homeland Security says "We Can't" Yeah! that's just what I want to hear from elected officials! Idiots! We can't deport illegals? There are too many? Napolitano is living off of us, the working class tax payers? Pass a law you dumb ass! A law that says all illegals have 6 months to leave the country or it will result in a mandatory Jail sentence. You will see them leaving on there own in droves. Then secure the borders Obama!

  • Obama Lie to the Hispanics.. he didn't keep his promised.. he deported more immigrants than any other president since the 1920's.. No MAS OBAMA 2012

  • last time i visited the states i saw alot of white people asking for spare change outside highways while the mexicans sold oranges and flowers!!

  • No jobs. ? Because they fuck it up. Decent hardworking people? Why fuck up their own country and leave. U know how they fuck it up? Here's how

    watch?v=GZQg5khbQtM

Now tell me, they fucked it up or not? NAFTA my ass. Blame the fucking cockroaches. You keep fucking, breeding how can any government feed them to grow more. I don't like NAFTA myself.

  • No jobs my ass. Mexico has 5% UNEMPLOYMENT while we have 10%. Cut the lies and bullshit. You don't want to go to your countries because you ruined them and you want free welfare and healthcare here, you freeloading scum

  • has the law passed yet?

  • @kbar8888 fuck la raza Im mexican and I prefer america many of my people want to be american... them that come up with that bullshit in the border states

  • @HoneySiegalSurvivor obviously he gives a dam those illegal students being in our schools is thanks to all the american tax payers and of course the illegals do pay taxes too not all of them but there is a percentage that do pay taxes do you know how much these students will boost our economy? and will give america more leaders in the future? the more education the better the economy some have already gotten degrees but cant contribute to american society because they obviously cant work!

  • @kbar8888 I can tell you what "reform" means to Obama because he has clearly shown his true colors. He wants to remove the definition of "illegal". His Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano was hired to open the borders clandestinely so that my hubby could build the buildings with cash workers!? OBAMA IS A CROOKED ATTORNEY. He does not give a dam about US sovereignity, borders or the Rule Of Law. Woods Foundation of Chicago dept of Agriculture & R lying, stealing! Day 421 in Campaign =HRS

  • @HoneySiegalSurvivor I agree. But do you notice they all say they want "change" and "reform", but they never say what the practical policy change they want to arrive at reform? Why are they so afraid to tell the American people what they want. LaRasa said, clearly that they want to re-claim the Southwestern U.S. for Mexico. That I can understand. But when these people, including Obama say "reform" what are they talking about?

  • @kbar8888 It is NOT ok for illegals to be living in the USA receiving food stamps & jobs & healthcare while honest americans R being duped. It is beyond comprehension what I have witnessed & the inside plot to dissolve the United States linked to the redistribution of my wealth & 911.The Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano & Barack Obama R doing global bank fraud. We The People Against Corruption in the Campaign to Remove & Indict Bogus Barry who is likely illegal himself, DHS Janet et al

  • @HoneySiegalSurvivor That was a nice little video and a nice little story. But I don't understand what this guy wants the immigration policy to be. He's not asking for us to make citizens of illegals. He's not asking us to give them work visas. He's not asking for anything that can be equated to a policy change. Reform. But what do they want? What policy to they want changed? What do they want it changed to? I can find no answers to these questions.

  • I was born in Canada and lived there for over 25 years. My American grandparents legally immigrated to the USA in the 40's or 50's. I legally immigrated to the the United States of America taking legal residency in August of 95 with my husband and 2 kids. Nafta appears to have been funded from fraud linked to Zenadev linked to the ILLEGAL presidency of Barack Hussein Obama. Love this Josh Grobin song. Who gets the royalties, bro? We The People in the Campaign to Remove & Indict Obama et al.Honey
