After being told she would have to purchase two seats to fly woman suggests airlines redesign their planes to accommodate fat people. Maybe she wants something like a first class seat for an economy seat price? Me Too!

  • Someday there will be a medical solution, for people who are morbidly obese. Obesity is not caused by overeating, it is a medical condition, a disorder or disease caused by a hormone imbalance, so typically when a heavy person eats a lot that is not the cause, but the symptom of the disease.

  • I have a solution. Eat healthy!

  • Damn, if I was working there, I'd look into her iphone and tell her "sorry I hurt your feelings. want a cookie?" Why not widen the seats on airplanes? While we're at it, why not make cars bigger and highways wider and pass out free weed? Shit, the airlines don't owe you anything, so buy 2 seats or cram yourself into one.

  • All I have to say is play the song "Too fat to fly" and you will understand, that or sit next to some one that big on the plane, and you will understand.

  • There are airlines for fat people, FEDEX, UPS, KALITTA, EVERGREEN.

  • fat bitch get off my dam plane

  • stop stuffing your gluttonous face ! you deserve the embarrassment, take it like a champ and move on. its embarrassing to our society that you consume so much resources when people are starving in the innercitys of our own country. your fat face makes me want to throw up!

  • @Chacha5678 diagram it out, or look at some of the layouts of newer plane models. it works just fine. obviously if someone is so big that they take up more than the "plus" size seating then there is still a problem, most large people don't actually need two full chairs worth of space. adding a few inches on either side is huge difference in terms of comfort though. it replaces a bank of four with three in the same amount of space so there is not "dead" space from a fraction of a chair.

  • @gridcaster no, this wont work because for an obese person to need 2-chairs worth of space in economy class, the airline would still need to make the same amount of money for the amount of space, so the obese person's ticket would still be 2x a regular ticket. even if an obese person took up 1.5 chairs, it still counts as 2, because they can't fit a chair in .5 the amount of space

  • @gridcaster With my suggestion the cost of tickets would increase about 1/3 (a $300 ticket would cost $400) instead of double for buying two seats ($600) or three or more times for first class business class ($900+). Not only would this be a fair price, but I think airlines would find that many people would be willing to pay 1/3 more for more room regardless of their size. Its a very easy model to see, and airlines are already adapting it in many of their next generation designs.
