Ballistic Peace: Diplomacy of Defence

Long-running negotiations between Russia and USA about NATO's European missile defence shield are currently deadlocked. Both countries want to protect their people by operating early warning radar stations, but have been unable to find a way to cooperate on the issue. NATO's top brass decided to deploy a missile defence system aimed at protecting Europe, but their plan to place it in former Warsaw Pact countries right on Russia's border raised the alarm in Moscow, leading it to consider countermeasures.
So the reset in US-Russia relations announced by Washington and supported by Moscow is in now jeopardy.

@meronmotors I do hear your point of view. However I am doing a degree in international relations. The reason why they wouldn't attack is that any nation that is under attack retaliates, canada and mexico would not just sit there and let it happen. With that being said, also other 'rogue' states would jump on the band wagon, thus endangering the security of the US. What is interesting is that oil is everywhere, why doesn't the US take its own?

missile "DEFENSE "sysytem Vs Nuclear "OFFENSE". Russia has more nukes than the entire Europe combined. It wants to hold on to it nukes while leaving the rest of Europe " DEFENSLESS" to a nuclear attack from Russia. Will Russia feel secure if Nato countries start making enough nukes each to counter the russian pile? This would evenout the game.

I think its a good think russia has a missle defence because the rockets will come but not from us but from china,China is growing FAST and it has many border disputes with the russians. Canada has not military and they are in the top 3 countries with the top oil they are on our border.we dont touch thembecause thats not our country or our oil.
