Mike, I just uploaded a version of the Matthew's commercial that has a family saying "Get a bike!" in Spanish. It aired in December of 1987. I hope it's the one you're looking for!

I checked the phone number for that well known retail place of the 1980's.....
It belongs to a cell phone now in San Francisco :)

Today is July 20, 2009: From what I see on a google search, the location is a retail "one dollar store."
From SUCH a hugely well known location due to the advertising.... to an unknown retail place. This is how life works. Things appear solid..... and then.... they're gone.

John Madden, famous TV Football personality... grew up just down the hill from Matthews toward the BART station. About a 1/4 mile away.
He lives in the East Bay now... maybe that is where white people are allowed to live today?
