BBC Points West news feature broadcast on 21 Dec 2011 reporting on the traditional lighting of the Alton Barnes white horse in Wiltshire, England, in celebration of the Winter Solstice, welcoming the rebirth of the sun. This was the 11th year running that the horse has been lit by candles at the Winter Solstice, a tradition revived by WCCSG (Wiltshire Crop Circle Study Group) in 2001. Seeing the lit horse from a distance is magical as the twinkling candles make it seem like the horse is alive.
