"Filmed 1939 by Lee Waters of Lexington, NC. Introduction from a local news clip. Ending with a Hoover Day Parade and clips from Dr. Thomas." The film maker was primarily interested in filming Oxford locals and only fleeting glimpses of of the town's architecture and landmarks are available. Still, the film shows clearly that Oxford was - during it's roll as a central market for tobacco - a very active city and considerably larger with regard to downtown structures.
