  • @superfunnygirl2009 I thought that it was invented by British archers way back in the day. When they were at war, archers tended to be the most problematic for the opposing sides and, when they caught an archer, they would cut off the finger that they use to draw back their bow string, the middle finger. To show that they haven't been caught, the archers would taunt the opposing sides by showing them that they still had their middle fingers. That's what I heard, anyways...

  • "The finger" was invented by American soldiers after the french threatened to cut off one finger from all of their hands (the middle one). I'm glad I could ruin this. jk! :)
