All this clip reveals is Buckley's standard boorishness.

It's interesting to note that critics of Buckley - whether it be professionals, syndicated commentators, or nobodies like yourself - always make sure to heighten their vocabulary when criticizing him. The most common criticism being that while he speaks eloquently and with a sophisticated inflection, he does so without substance. Basically, he can talk the talk but fails to walk the walk. Which is inherently false if you actually listen to what he is saying.

I love it that you think if only "somebody" would listen to Buckley, his "inherent" substance would be obvious. Which, translated, means: "If you share my interpretation of Buckley, then you're on the side of wisdom and truth."
And then you accuse ME of taking on airs! That is some tasty chutzpah!

My argument was merely that so much of what we hear, even in general, beyond the context of this video, is what has been channeled past our preconceptions first, and then we listen to whatever has survived the process. I offered no interpretation of Buckley. Only the idea that the words he speaks are more than sheer eloquence.

I read your argument (if you can call it that) as a critique of my entire opinion of Buckley based on an eight word emotive response I had written. Since my brief comment was insubstantial, for some reason you assumed I had no substantial critique of the man, which is presumptuous, among other things. I've actually been exposed to much of his writing and broadcasts; and if you'd like to enter into an email correspondence to discuss his substantive flaws as a commentator, I'd be happy to oblige.

You must be kidding if you think Buckley's accent is Boston Brahmin.

Alcohol is legal. Alcohol is not good. I'de say one of the most destructive objects created. It's best to just not do it.

Clever. Did you come up with that one on your own, or did you have help? I imagine gm8382 could offer some of the smarts he picked up in Bible College and learning about business to help you there.

Nah. Your mother asked me to say it when I was done with your sister.

It's funny that the same guy who threw out the incest comment is now all upset because someone threw an equally sophomoric comment back at him. Rather hypocritical, wouldn't you think? Now THAT'S a typical liberal.
