On the 10th of August the New Zealand government announced our emissions reduction target of 10-20% below 1990 levels by 2020.

In doing this they ignored public opinion at all their public consultation meetings where the vast majority asked for a target of 40% below 1990 levels.

Our lack of action will also damage our 100% Pure brand, which is being expanded from our tourism industry to cover almost all of New Zealand inc.

The EU may commit to 30% by 2020
The UK has committed to 34% by 2020
Germany has committed to 40% by 2020
Scotland has committed to 42% by 2020
and the USA has committed to 80% by 2050

New Zealand is being left behind in terms of action on Climate change, this will damage our international reputation, our international brand and therefore our economy.

  • More and more evidence is coming to light that global warming is a hoax.

Today we just found out that the claim that 40% of the amazon would be converted to savana in the IPCC report is also questionable.

Are you ready for a totaly review yet??

  • @headlessrd

The article said that the carbon has been absorbed by the oceans and other sinks.

Point is, all this data needs to be re-checked. And maybe not by a railroad engineer. (the guy running the IPCC)

  • On a genuine interest note to .2 (also a question you deleted on your page) where is the Carbon going then?

Because human carbon emissions have certainly increased due to activity over the last few hundred years.

1/ the hockey stick chart was based on a total of 10 tree rings, only one of which showed the hockey stick, they ignored 38 other samples.

2/ A new report that came out says that co2 has not increased.

3/ The IPCC has had to admit that its claim that the glaciers in the himalayas would melt was not true.

I mean how many dodgy data points do you need before you say we need to recheck this thing???

  • to 6. the Hockey stick idea relates to exponential growth in co2 and runaway climate change.

Runaway climate change is expected to be triggered by approx 2 degrees of warming. This is expected mid 21st century(NO-ONE has ever said runaway climate change will start tomorrow).

to 1. what figures are you looking at ????

Most climate change sceptics say there is little correlation between co2 and warming. They don't deny facts that co2 emissions have risen dramatically within 100 years.
