He needs the suit to contain his ectoplasm since can only survive for a few hours in open air. He can possess a soulless body or a machine to continue existing.
He doesn't feel right inhabiting a corpse and a machine would be hard to maintain, so he has a suit that's basically a balloon.

@hell5309 he can manipulate objects yes.... but he needs to interact with some as a normal human would... hence the suit

Okay, why does Krauss need the suit if without it he can still actuate material things?
I mean, I know he's a disembodied spirit, but he doesn't need the suit if he can manipulate material objects.
