Comic Magician Bob Shelley as "The Comic Waiter"

Montreal Comic Magician Bob Shelley performs his now-classic "Magic Waiter" act live on the CBC TV show "Les démons du midi". The magician wanted to maintain the element of surprise, so the performance was unrehearsed. The "customers" (co-hosts, Gilles LaTulippe and Suzanne LaPointe) were simply instructed before the show to refuse everything the waiter offers and to light up a cigarette. As a result, the reactions of Gilles and Suzanne are genuine as Shelley pulls off some neat magic and comic surprises to the delight of the studio audience. Shelley performs his comedy magic in English and French throughout Canada and the United States.
