Rep. Roscoe Bartlett Says Selfish Government Spending and Borrowing Won't Strengthen the Economy

"It's more than a little selfish to try to solve the economic problems we created by burdening future unborn generations," says Congressman Bartlett. He criticizes the latest big spending bill Democrats are trying to ram through the Congress. The FY 2009 Omnibus Appropriations bill would raise government spending by $32 billion, an 8 percent increase, through September 30, 2009. It would be the biggest increases in non-defense domestic discretionary spending since the Carter Administration.
