10 - Fire breathing dragons were really just dinosaurs that had the capability of belching methane gas like cows and having some mechanism to ignite the gas with a simple spark. Bombardier beetles can set off 200 explosions per second to scare off the frog that's ready to eat him, the electric eel can generate 600 volts of electricity to shock the swimmer, and the lightning bug firefly has a flashlight built into its tail, and cows after eating grass all day belch methane gas. It is easy therefore to believe in fire breathing dragons, not only for the scientific possibilities of them but historical accounts ranging back to Marco Polo and Babylonian artifacts.
