Running short on soldiers and needed somewhere else, Captain Kang has no choice but to leave the Pohang Girls Middle School in the hands of 71 student soldiers with no combat experience.
One of these students is Kap-jo (Kwon Sang-woo) who was convicted of murder.

Captain Kang chooses Jang-beom as their leader seeing as he's the only one who has experienced a war battle. The other students argue over that decision, saying they should vote on who the leader is instead.
