Trevor taking his 1952 dodge military power wagon with 38.5" boggers up a very slippery ditch ripps his door handel off and puts a big dent in his door
@sweetbilly I really don't care for the new style. when they put fenders back on the truck in 94 I couldn't wait to get one. As for longevity, that's why I went with the 318...proven to be bulletproof.
@lima33ful Oh they're fantastic trucks aren't they! I've driven the new body style a couple of times (not enough to get a genuine feel for it though), I think I prefer the older rams. Older trucks going 400K on the original engine is unheard of, especially Chevy's, so Dodge really out did themselves ...I like the new body styles but IMO the older trucks are soo much more reliable, classic and easier to work on. Bad thing is finding parts after market or repro parts for it can be a bitch :(
It blows my mind to think the engine and transmission actually outlasted the ring and pinion gear, never heard of a Ford or Chevy doing anything like that. I'm telling ya they didn't change the design of that truck for 30 years for a reason, they were engineered so well they didn't have to!!
Hey now!! I have a mid 90's ram with 400 thousand miles on it, it's been in one accident, and I can still rip the tires on it!
In fact, I just replaced the rear ring and pinion and it drives better than ever. Getting ready to do a full restore on it because it LOVE it that much. I've decided I'm going to keep it for the rest of my life. I'm telling ya, change the oil and do basic maintenance on these trucks and they NEVER EVER stop running.
