Think about famous artists (painters) who simply drew a straight line and were praised for it. Anyone could have done that as well, but they were the ones that actually did it. I agree with you about the content of the song though.

I love how people say "She's not bad live." That's like saying "She can add 1 plus 1 pretty easy." There is NOTHING about this song that is remotely hard to sing so it's not too hard to screw it up. ANYONE can sing it.
It's a song about EVERYTHING wrong with our generation and it exploits it, and all these uptight spoiled snob chicks out there can sing it because it's so simple. Plus it lets people out there know it's ok to be slutty and unclassy.. Sad..
It makes me sick.
