InformationWeek editor-at-large David Berlind takes delivery of Amazon's Kindle 2 ebook from the UPS Delivery Truck and rolls tape to capture the entire unboxing experience in video. The Kindle 2 a very different industrial design than the original Kindle. It's thinner and has a different button configuration and layout. This review unit came with a protective cover. But it should be known that, unlike with the original Kindle, the $359 Kindle 2 does not include a protective cover. That costs extra. Stay tuned to TechWebTV for a more David's more complete review of the Kindle 2 and be sure to check out his video from the Morgan Library in New York City where the Kindle 2 was first launched.

  • 300+ dollars for that, why not just buy a book = 5-20 dollars....

  • did apple desing that?

  • Hey, I got an idea! TechWebTV TURN OFF COMMENTS.

  • With all that knowledge, seems to me that u r more of a treehugger than u want to admit. Take a chill pill. With the amount of pollution created from creating plastic aluminium n all, if we still make books, it means lesser trees and still same amount of factories, if not more. But with this e-book, the amount of trees will be greatly preserved in ratio to factories. There would be enough greens to counter the toxic that factories produce, which isn't the case nowadays, don't you think?

  • oh really? i am not an treehugger or anything but please enlighten me, that e-book is made out of plastic, aluminium and who knows what, how much energy those things cost to make?? oh and lets not mention whats the life span of an ebook 2-3 years tops? a regular book can last up to 50-90 years easy, it cost less to prodece and its biodegradeable and renuable, a ebook is not biodegradable ( dont give me that crap about recycling cuz it just wont work, it consumes more energy to recycle )

  • An e-book is a good idea towards greener earth. Less paper that goes into production means more woods to replenish and heal the earth. Which part of this that's bullshit to you?

  • The cover thats coming with mine tomorrow (12-23-09 is the M-edge platform synthetic leather Royal blue. I can't wait

  • I'm getting mine tomorrow!! :D
