I was researching the Hillsborough disaster and came across Ibrox, a tragedy I admit to having known nothing about. Wow, very sad circumstances. Having such a personal connection via YouTube was unexpected- it should remind all of us how fragile life is, and that many more lives were forever affected with each of the 66 lost that day. Thanks for posting this lovely tribute. May God Bless all the victims that day, and also the families that were so devastated.

.....my dad got home that night. I was only 6 at the time but can remember the horror of it all as even at that young age it sunk in what had happened. So sorry for your loss and once again, nice tribute to the 66.

Nice tribute to your dad mate. A very dignified answer to scottishtim who is obviously taking a cheap jibe at Gers. Only you know and the other relatives know the real pain of that day. My dad was hurt at the 1961 game on same stairway (infact he ended up on top of one of those who died),hardly ever used that stair again when there was a big match. He was at the match in 1971 and entered via stairway 13 but said to his mates he would go in that way but not leave that way.they left via 19.......

Why in gods name are fighting to bring back terracing? Do these people who are fighting for terracing are actually inviting Ibrox and hillsborough to happen all over again. All seater stadiums came at far too big of cost. R.I.P our absent friends
WILLIE WADDELL KNEW!!! During 1963, concerns were raised about the safety of the stairway adjacent to passageway 13 the exit closest to Copland Road subway station. On 16 September 1961 two people were killed in a crush on the stairway, and there were two other incidents where several people were injured. WILLIE WADDELL KNEW AND DID NOTHING TO PREVENT THIS TERRIBLE DISASTER!!!!!!

@SCOTTISHTIM hi there, you left me a message about willie waddle knowing the dangers of stairway 13. i know he knew, i read the fatal accident stuff back in 1986, they all knew the dangers of that stairway and did fuck all about it, well except make the only escape route impossilble to escape from!! so i am not sure if you posted that to inform me? or to have a go at rangers fans? but that video is not about rangers, its there as a memorial to my dad. so thank you for posting a comment on it

i took my 5 year old boy to the memorial service. he was cold, but never complained as he knew we had come to pay respects to all those "who had gone to god" in another forty years time he will still remember the time his old dad taught him an early lesson in life, that rangers are a family and we will never forget
