I'm surprised the anchor was able to stay professional. I would have been too tempted to just say, "You are a fool, sir. Please tell me this is a prank because no one this retarded should be allowed on television."

Haha they were both brilliant.
I was a bit surprised that the young ACT guy so easily missed Oliver's simple point about the symbolism of Earth Hour though.

ok rick giles sounds like a bloody nutter but with the whole global warming thing not all scientists around the world believe its a man made thing they all agree the earth is warming but they don't all jump to the same conclusion as the media does. some believe its simply climate change a natural occurrence that happens from living on earth btw in the 1960's there was something called global cooling and in the 1920's they were worried about something similar to global warming. so who knows

@stuaker17 i think we are just to stupid to understand his points. he won the argument, but he didn't present himself to suit our intellectual levels..... eg, ppl switching to candles will use more power... turning the grid back on will have a massive effect in the wrong direction etc.... the nerds are always right... lol

Holy shit. No surprise from the illogical ACT supporter, but I am genuinely impressed by a good NZ TV journalist. Kudos to him!
