In this video, students test a rat-trap powered boat toward the end of their Design Process. Each student was given the same rat-trap and a series of constraints for which to work within. The goal was to make a boat that goes as fast or as far as possible. Parts have been designed in Pro-Engineer, and some parts, such as gears, are prototypes printed on a 3D plastic printer (Dimension SST Model). This is a transportation activity in a Design & Technology Classroom. We are members of the NJ TSA and the New Jersey Technology Education Association. This isn't your parent's woodshop, folks!
